It's a 5km race, fastest time should be around 30 minutes. Longest times will be over 1 hour. We use Timing Chips for accuracy.

Start Times

Starting at 8am, waves of 250 athletes will be released every 30 minutes across 2 groups (Elite and Open). Heats of up to 250 people will leave at the following times: 8am Elite Heat, the Open Heats are from 8:30am onwards.


- $25 to transfer to another event, person, or season
- You have until 2 weeks before the event to transfer to another event or person
- Free to transfer from Elite/Competitive to Open heat
- Upgrade fee to transfer from Open to Competitive/Elite heat

Racer and event transfers are not permitted on Race Day.

Team Codes

Please contact customer service to set up a discount team code to register. It can only be used at the time of registration, for more information check out our FAQ on teams.




All Ages (14+ years to race the adult race). Adult must sign a waiver onsite for racers under the age of 18 years old.

Heat Confirmation Time

Your heat time will be assigned within your selected time slot 10 days prior to race day

Space at the top is somewhat limited so please carpool where possible. A parking map and details about the shuttle service from the bottom of Mt Seymour will be emailed to you a week before the event. Please refer to this as your parking guide for the event. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED: Absolutely no parking in Parkgate Village or on any streets or areas where parking is prohibited or restricted by signage. If you ignore these signs we are not responsible if you are ticketed or towed or both. Please Note: Parkgate Village Shopping Centre will be enforcing this on Saturday.



Your heat time is located at the bottom right of your receipt.



We have medical staff at the race. Their headquarters will be easily marked with First Aid Banner and is near or in the festival area. There will be at least one aid station on course and there will also be water at the finish area. Carry extra hydration and fuel if you think you might need it.



Every competitor receives a medal, Spartan t-shirt, scrapes and bruises, stories, stories and more stories!



You will only be able to pick up your own race package. You must present photo ID. You will not be able to pick up anyone else's package. No exceptions. The week before the race you will be emailed if there is pre-race package pickup and the location and time specifics. You can also pickup your race package on race day arrive at least 90 minutes prior to your start time.



From 7:00 am onwards Please Note: Allow at least 75-90+ minutes before your heat to allow for enough time for parking, package pickup, body marking, bag check etc.



If all parking lots are full there will be parking below and shuttle buses running from the designated area down the mountain to and from Dorothy Lynas Elementary School.



Not yet registered? If the race isn’t sold out there is still room in heats, the afternoon choices are your best option. Please show up and register at the top of Mt. Seymour from 7:00am onwards. Remember to bring your photo ID and cash or your credit card.



Coolers or barbeques are not allowed within the main festival area. Spectators are welcome (subject to the same parking fee). No dogs, alcohol, glass bottles or camping on site, this is event location rules.

Strength comes in numbers! Create a team or join a team and run with your friends!

How many people are needed to make a team? Teams are unlimited with a minimum of four people! Team members are timed individually and are not required to cross the finish line together. 

You can volunteer a minimum of 4 hours up to all day. Each volunteer gets a lunch and a t shirt. If you volunteer for 8 hours you also get a free race entry. Upon request we will provide a reference letter. We have many different volunteer roles to choose from. Without volunteers, Spartan Race cannot put on such spectacular events! We need you!
