The 2024 Spartan Race Schedule: Find Your Favorite Venues and New Trifecta Weekends
The past few years have brought rapid and progressive changes to the sport of obstacle course racing. From old rivals Tough Mudder and Spartan becoming one House of Hard to OCR becoming primed for the Olympics, Age Groupers making their mark and taking over the United States National Series, Elites committing to the fast-and-furious, invite-only 3K course, harder obstacles, and more, the year 2024 will be bringing even more exciting, challenging events to the world stage.
There's still plenty of time to sign up for 2023 Spartan races, but we know that the most dedicated, disciplined athletes start to map out their race schedules far in advance. We've got the dates and details of a few of the 2024 races, and with some returning, racer-favorite venues and a few brand-new Trifecta weekends, now is the time to commit.

SoCal Spartan Trifecta Event Weekend - Sprint, Super, Beast, Kids
The Spartan race season opener kicks off with a Trifecta weekend with scenic mountain views in the warm Southern California sun. Escape the everyday hustle and bustle of modern Los Angeles city life with the ultimate obstacle course challenge, featuring more than 1,200 acres of rugged wilderness.

Arizona Spartan Event Weekend - Sprint, Super, Kids
Towering cactus plants, unassuming twists and turns, dusty trails, and dry heat will test your resolve as you take on one of the more convoluted courses on the calendar. It may be February, but this early-season desert challenge is waiting. Are you tough enough to tackle these arid 5Ks and 10Ks?
Feb. 24-25, 2024
Jacksonville Spartan Event Weekend - Sprint, Super, Kids
Welcome back to WW Ranch Motocross Park. Located just 20 minutes from downtown Jacksonville, this Spartan-favorite venue — where racers can complete a 5K Sprint, a 10K Super, and even Kids races — is the perfect quick winter getaway. The course will be fast and flat, hopping from soft, sandy track sections to open pastures. You'll be racing along the motocross trails, in and around the beautiful lake and right through a legendary clay pigeon graveyard on the property. This is an ideal race for first-timers with its low elevation gain, and a great speed test for more seasoned racers.

In 2023, we tested our fast, epic new 3K event format with our grittiest Age Groupers, drastically hardened our obstacles — namely the Barbed Wire Crawl — and brought the first race of the U.S. National Series, a 5K Sprint, to this marshy playground. Which soul-crushing surprises will we see in 2024?
March 9-10, 2024
Houston Spartan Trifecta Weekend - Sprint, Super, Beast, Kids
Trifecta chasers, we have great news. Along with Jacksonville, we've added a Beast race to this single-track southern race for an extra punch of pain. It's time to saddle up at 7IL Ranch, which has no shortage of open pastures and densely-wooded areas to challenge your every step. Just an hour west of downtown Houston, 7IL Ranch offers over 40 miles of rolling, sandy hill trails, along with a few shallow creek crossings. Keep your head on a swivel and beware of crossing cattle and running horses.

Atlanta Spartan Trifecta Weekend - Sprint, Super, Beast, Kids
The Georgia International Horse Park was the home to the 1996 Olympic equestrian events. Rolling hills and deep southern woods keep Spartans guessing as they race through Georgia red clay, slippery mud pits, water crossings, and other technical terrain. The longer distances will run through the Olympic rings that were built on location.

Charlotte Spartan Event Weekend - Sprint, Super, Kids
Just outside of Charlotte, Porter Farms is the perfect obstacle race venue for athletes seeking terrain that keeps them guessing without the relentless climbing of a mountain course. Take on mud, multiple creeks, and a few surprises along the way with Spartan's classic obstacle lineup and — new from last year — a Super 10K course alongside our Sprint 5K.

San Diego Spartan Event Weekend - Sprint, Super, Kids
Get ready for Spartan Sprint 5K and Super 10K obstacle races that will change your life. These fast-paced adventures through rugged terrain and include anywhere from 20 to 25 obstacles, and they're built for race rookies and pros alike. It’s the perfect gateway into the world of Spartan and the ultimate SoCal weekend challenge.
April 20-21, 2024
Palm Beaches Spartan Event Weekend - Sprint, Kids
The S. County Regional Park is located just minutes from the beach. Situated 40 minutes south of West Palm Beach and an hour North of Miami, this is the perfect spot for an active and relaxing vacation ... as long as you've earned it on race day. This course is a runner's paradise — one of the flattest and fastest on the schedule. Be on the lookout for back-to-back obstacle gauntlets and heavy carries.

Tri-State New Jersey Spartan Trifecta Weekend - Sprint, Super, Beast, Ultra, Kids
Meet Vernon Peak, New Jersey's largest ski mountain. With 1,040 feet of vertical and a summit of 1,480 feet, this course will shoot you up and down at will. It's one of Spartan's toughest mountain courses and sits in the top five of our toughest courses in the United States overall. Get ready for dizzying climbs, rocky descents, and stunning views from the peak.

May 4-5, 2024
Fayetteville Spartan Trifecta Weekend - Sprint, Super, Beast, Ultra, Kids
A family-owned farm might not sound like an intimidating place, but don't let that fool you. McCormick Farms is made up of more than 1,000 acres, complete with rich, dense forest, a 200-foot deep quarry, rolling hills, and steep riverbanks that will test your technical ability. Voted a favorite venue by Spartan staff, it features an amazing festival area and is located near Fort Bragg, and local skeet shooting, to keep the action going when you're not on the race course.

Austin Spartan Event Weekend - Sprint, Super, Kids
Welcome to Reveille Peak Ranch. Located in Burnet, Texas, this ranch offers over 62 miles that wind and weave through fields of wildflowers and cacti, dry creek beds, and exposed granite outcroppings — all the makings of an authentic Texan Spartan obstacle course race. Even with the hilly Texas terrain, prepare for a race that moves at a highly competitive clip.
Raymond James Spartan Stadion Weekend (May 18 only) - Stadion, Kids
Raymond James Stadium, home of the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is no stranger to large sporting events, music festivals, and superstar concerts, and this 5K is like no other. Run through the bleachers, run past the iconic pirate ship, and listen to the famous animatronic parrot. Make sure your quads and calves are in tip-top shape, because these stairs are no joke.
Big Bear Spartan Trifecta Event Weekend - Sprint, Super, Beast, Kids
What makes Big Bear Mountain Resort one of the most rewarding race venues in the world? Climbs, climbs, and more climbs taking you as high as 8,200 feet above sea level. What goes up must come down, so get ready to bomb over 1,200 feet of descent. Be warned: This is a race your calves will never forget. Off the course, enjoy some of Southern California's premier entertainment, local culture, food, and lodging.

Monterey Spartan Event Weekend - Sprint, Super, Kids
Located just 6 miles from downtown Salinas, this park is teeming with picturesque woods and rolling golden hills, and it features ideal coastal California weather. A true fan favorite, this course boasts all of the demanding features that you've come to know from Spartan: brutal climbs, open-field sprints, and our famous punishing obstacles, all ready to set your muscles ablaze.
Come pound your way through these rugged trails while enjoying some of the most beautiful views that the Golden State has to offer. While your muscles will be on fire and begging for mercy, the awe-inspiring scenery makes everything worth it. It's an amazing place to truly become unbreakable.
June 8-9, 2024
Cincinnati Spartan Trifecta Weekend - Sprint, Super, Beast, Kids
We're back again. Just 30 minutes outside of Cincinnati, this ski resort will challenge racers with a nice mixture of hills, flat-field running, and some water and mud to add that extra layer of difficulty. Expect this to be a fast, yet challenging, Trifecta weekend. Plus, don't forget to bring the kids! There is more than enough mud for the entire family.
Parking for the event will be located onsite. The festival will be integrated with the Base Lodge, including a nice obstacle viewing area. When you're off the course, enjoy all that Cincinnati has to offer: gardens, mountains, and museums. No matter what you’re into, you’ll find it exploring the Buckeye State.

Utah Spartan Trifecta Weekend - Sprint, Super, Beast, Kids
This venue is no stranger to elite athletes. With a 3,000-foot vertical climb to its peak, this course is one of our toughest yet. The trek to the summit will be challenging, but that just makes the breathtaking views from the top so much more worth it. Whether it's your first time or your fifth year, this venue never disappoints.

July 13-14, 2024
Poconos Spartan Event Weekend - Sprint, Super, Kids
In Palmerton, you’ll scale Pennsylvania’s Blue Mountain, which has tested Spartans year after year and is one of our longest-standing venues for a reason. Run in and out of dense forests as you scale the rugged hill designed to test even the most elite. If you’re strong and determined enough, you’ll be rewarded with amazing views of the Poconos from the top — and then your challenging descent begins. Don’t race alone. Invite your friends and family to cheer you on. This is an amazing course for spectators. They can take the chair lift ride to the top for jaw-dropping views of the course and surrounding area. Put yourself to the test at this must-race event.

Hawaii Spartan Trifecta Event Weekend - Sprint, Super, Beast, Ultra, Kids
In August, 2024, we’re bringing the heat back to the Aloha State. The Hawaii Spartan Trifecta Weekend features arguably the best views of any race on our U.S. schedule and some of the most diverse terrain — from mountains to open fields to lush jungle — making this Trifecta weekend an absolute bucket-list location.
Not only is this a full Trifecta weekend, but there's even the option to tackle the infamous Ultra 50K. No matter which distance you choose, you'll face ascents and descents that nearly top our elevation charts, but you'll also experience the most jaw-dropping coastal trail segments as you toil through what has become a Spartan racers' dream venue. Plus, this weekend is known for its fully-immersive cultural experiences for the whole family, so don't miss out.

West Virginia Spartan Trifecta Event Weekend - Sprint, Super, Beast, Kids
Summit Bechtel Reserve is widely known for its natural beauty, unbeatable white-water rafting, and youth scouting programs that teach leadership, character, and fitness. This course's vast array of hills, steep inclines, water features, and technical terrain will test your grit and keep you guessing. You'll run across a huge suspension bridge and take in spectacular views of the valley at this unforgettable venue.
