Everything You Need to Know About the Unbreakable 24 Challenge

The Unbreakable 24 challenge, presented by Darn Tough, brings the spirit of Spartan’s most insane and difficult events. The challenge will be in the virtual realm, as the brand hosts its first-ever 24-hour online challenge. With continuous obstacles testing the body and mind throughout the time period, competitors will be pushed to their breaking points, leaving only one man and one woman standing.

Be Unbreakable: Learn How to Train, Eat, and Think Like a Spartan

The unpredictable 24-hour event will unfold live on Zoom, beginning on Saturday, May 2 at 3 p.m. and concluding 24 hours later. It will stream on Spartan’s YouTube channel — watch here — and will feature color and commentary from Spartan athletes, influencers, and Spartan founder and CEO Joe De Sena.

What the Challenge Entails

As competitors are led through the evolving stages of the event, they will cover the distance and obstacle count of Spartan’s Sprint, Super, Beast, and Ultra events, racing a total of 86K and coming up against 135 obstacles. The obstacles will include a series of bodyweight and aerobic exercises. The event is scaled for indoor or outdoor activity, with Spartan providing alternatives for those who cannot run outside. You can use indoor cardio equipment — such as stationary bikes and rowing machines — and exercises such as bear crawls, jump rope, and stair climbs.

After the 86K is completed, Spartans will hit the La Ruta trail, and then dive into components of Spartan’s Extreme Endurance events, which are true tests of physical and mental grit.

Any break in a competitor’s live transmission of more than 10 minutes throughout the 24-hour period will result in immediate disqualification.
