Easy to Lose!

Excellent gloves, especially for any obstacle involving ropes, until you lose them. I think left them behind somewhere in the post-finish line routine after dark. They need to come in a red (or other bright color) option for absent-minded people like me who might better notice them if they don't blend into the darkness. I'm about to replace the pair I lost at Big Bear - in black again - and hope I don't lose them at the end of another long race.

Saved me a few burpees for sure...

These gloves deserve a review, so here are my experiences...

I'm new to OCR and attempting at a Trifecta this year. At my first rope climb at Angel Stadium I slipped a few feet and got some pretty nasty rope burn. I bought these so I could keep training and have worn them for the Monterey Super and the Sonoma ToughMudder Classic. I started the Super without the gloves but at Olympus I somehow got a finger caught in a chain as I was falling off of it and put the gloves on after that. It worked out perfect because the obstacles I failed all seemed to have burpee pits with rocks, weeds, and thorns as additional punishment's. The gloves seem to work great when wet and dry, but fit is VERY important (should be tight). I wore them even when not needed during the TM just to see how I felt when they were wet/muddy and I have no complaints. TM did have some really slippery mud, but the gloves still had better grip or as good of grip as my bare hands when I got to the grip obstacles. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is that when the "sandpaper" style grip surfaces get completely caked in with mud then you have to clean them or they are more slippery than bare hands. When I say "clean them" I just meant I had to rub some grass on them before the wet bars to get the grip surface to be rough again, after that they performed great. I probably would have had to clean my bare hands with something in those cases, so might not be a valid complaint. I will be wearing them for the Seattle Beast to complete my Trifecta and I have complete confidence in them.

Good gloves and better than the combat gloves the Navy gave me and also better than the Mechanics Gloves from Home Depot. Might even buy an extra pair for working on my Jeep, but need to see how the grips handle motor oil and grease!
