Tri-State New Jersey Super Weekend

Spartan Race and mountainous terrain go hand-in-hand. Luckily, for Spartans of the Northeast there’s Mountain Creek -- home to the largest ski mountain in New Jersey. As with any mountain course, you’re guaranteed to see it all: peaks and valleys, slopes and climbs, ropes and walls, Spartan Kids and Spartan Pros. Discover what it means to be a Spartan and meet others as you battle toward one common goal: the finish line. As is par for mountain courses, you’ll be sent up and down -- a lot -- thankfully there’s the reward of a view from the outstanding heights. Come prepared for the unexpected in the weather department… mountain weather is notoriously unpredictable. Spartans always come prepared. If this if your first time on a Spartan Race course don’t underestimate how long you’ll be out there. Be sure to bring enough to fuel you through the course. Some things are certain: there will be rope climbs, there will be barbed wire, and there will be heavy carries. No one likes 30 burpees and that’s why it’s wise to train hard, train well and be prepared to conquer each and every obstacle. TOP REASONS TO TAKE ON THIS COURSE: 1. Vernon Peak has 1,040 feet of vertical, with a base of 440 feet and a summit elevation of 1,480 feet with plenty of room to go up and then back down countless times. 2. Treat yourself to some extra time to sleep in by staying onsite at Mountain Creek. The Appalachian and Black Creek Sanctuary are both good options. 3. Looking for some craft beer and craft food for your post race delight? Check out Eddie’s Roadhouse nearby in Warwick, NJ. 4. Still looking for more action? You can get another kind of adrenaline rush at Zoom Ziplines. 5. Check out TreEscape a NEW and unique rope course that is sure to provide an exhilarating outdoors adventure for everyone.

ARRIVAL

Plan to arrive 1.5 hours BEFORE your designated start time to allow enough time to pick up your packet, drop your stuff at bag check, and get warmed up. If you are one of those chronically late people, tell yourself you need to be there 2 hours early. If you’re an early bird, registration opens at 6:30am on Saturday and Sunday morning.

WAIVERS AND IDs

All racers, spectators, and volunteers MUST sign a waiver (above) and show a valid photo ID upon arrival. Be sure to bring a copy of your signed waiver and hand it to one of our awesome volunteers in the registration tent. We try to have copies of waivers available, but save yourself some time, print it here and bring it with you on race day. We cannot release bibs without a signed waiver for each participant.

BIB PACKET PICKUP

Bib numbers are available the week of the race & will be posted under the Race Day tab a few days prior to the events date. On race day, make sure you know your bib number as this will be used to locate your bib packet - this will include your headband, bib, timing chip and most importantly, FREE drink ticket!

WHAT TO BRING

Along with your ID, waiver, parking cash and knowing your bib #, bring your friends and family - or anyone else who needs proof of your badassness and obstacle course skills or someone who needs a demonstration of your mud flinging abilities. Don't forget your money for parking and fun! You should probably bring a towel and some extra clothes because your clothes will get muddy and wet, but you probably already guessed this.

NOTE: Outside food and drink WILL NOT be allowed into the venue, so make sure to leave it at home or in your car! Same with pets, no pets please.

BAG CHECK

Try and leave as much stuff as you can at home or in your car— but for the stuff you can't leave behind, or that you don't want covered in mud and water, we will have a secure place to check in your gear. Check in is $5/bag – you will get a wrist band to wear that matches the band we put on your bag so make sure you keep that safe.

WHAT TO WEAR

We said "adventure" right? Well folks let's get adventurous! There’s no dress code, per se, but you’ll be running in mud and water, climbing hills and mountains, crawling under barbed wire and jumping fire. So choose wisely my friends.

FINISHERS RECEIVE

For starters, yes, you will be getting your badge of honor, the one-of-a-kind, bragging rights of your badass finishers medal (if you want to really bling it out, have it personalized using our partner site, iTab – they can get this all set for you. You’ll also get a quality race t-shirt (yes, more bragging rights) and shortly after the event, you’ll get your own professional photo and video to prove your badassness (see Photos section for more on that)

Event day photos will be posted on the event page 5-7 days after the event, FREE OF CHARGE! You don’t have to stay up all night checking the site for this – we’ll email you when your photos are ready!
