Atlanta Sprint Weekend

If you were to make a checklist of the ideal Spartan Race terrain, you could check-off a number of things at the Reebok Spartan Race in Conyers, Georgia. This course offers hills, forests, rough terrain, mud, more hills, and of course, single and doubletrack trails. Ideally, a Spartan-worthy venue would have all of these boxes checked. Centennial Olympic Parkway proudly has all of these elements in abundance -- making this a popular venue. The famous thick, red clay here makes for the most infamous mud on the Spartan calendar, but that’s not the only reason to attack the course. One of the most daunting yet exciting obstacles in the form of the huge cargo climb is something seasoned racers prepare with regularity. The only question is, will the race directors include it again? This venue was home to the 1966 Olympic Equestrian events, so keep training your legs, you’ll need plenty of horsepower to negotiate the technical trails and the rolling hills. TOP REASONS TO TAKE ON THE COURSE: 1. How often can you point out that you conquered a course that is used for all-terrain vehicles? Unlike most who visit these grounds, you’ll be covering this place on foot! 2. In Atlanta, you can visit the home Martin Luther King grew up in, the church where he would speak at and the areas where he played as a child. 3. Atlanta is a friend of Hollywood. The Walking Dead, Zombieland, Blindside, The Hunger Games and Anchorman 2 have all been filmed here. A local company will even give you a tour of the filming locations. 4. You can also take a tour inside CNN that starts off on the world’s largest free-standing escalator which spans over eight stories high! You’ll then see how the teleprompters and weather screen work inside Studio 7 – the largest studio that CNN has built anywhere in the world. 5. Want to experience what is arguably the world’s best test drive? Visit the Porsche Experience Center and learn what it takes to build and handle a Porsche. Reserve a driving experience here and experience something many only dream of. 6. You may want to dine at the Sun Dial restaurant. Turning slowly at 73 stories, you can have your dinner and take in a 360-degree view of this famous city, after first scaling the tower in a glass elevator.

ATLANTA SPRINT

ATLANTA SPRINT

The Sprint may be our shortest distance race, but it’s still a favorite among both new and returning racers. It’s the perfect distance for those looking to start their Spartan journey. The Sprint also allows returning racers a manageable distance to see how far they can push themselves. Delivering 20-23 obstacles over 3-5 miles, you'll never run the same race twice. Once you complete the sprint you are 1/3 on your Spartan TRIFECTA: The ultimate Spartan achievement.

Show up early to run with the Spartan Staff in a whole new way!

Typically lasting 3-4 hours, the Hurricane Heat is a unique event, traversing on and off the Spartan Race Course. Hurricane Heat Participants will be assigned a team upon arrival and will be expected to work together to complete any and all challenges set before them, as a team.  You can't finish alone.
