How amazing would it feel to conquer an Olympic-quality venue? If you take on the course at Soldier Hollow, you can state this with pride. Spartan Race triumphantly returns to Soldier Hollow, the host venue of the 2002 Winter Olympic Cross Country Ski competitions. This location has it all. It is an impressively spectator-friendly course, allowing family and friends to cheer you on as you conquer obstacles. Don’t worry, the surrounding mountainous terrain will be fully utilized to test your mettle. With a starting elevation at over 5,000 feet, all who participate are in for a Spartan treat. Wasatch Mountain State Park -- where Soldier Hollow is situated -- boasts one of the most beautiful views in the country. When you reach the summit that reaches almost 6,000 feet, take a moment to appreciate the wonderful view of Utah and the surrounding 22,000 acres of picturesque terrain. With wooded areas, grassy plains and sandy areas, the terrain can quickly change, promising to keep all participants on their toes. TOP REASONS TO TAKE ON THE COURSE: 1. Utah Olympic Park is nearby. There’s a rope course, zip-lining, and even a miniature obstacle course with some “ninja” style obstacles. 2. In regards to the course itself, Spartan Pro Matt Novakovich describes it as “Mountain beauty personified, with a vast landscape that opens up the world of diverse obstacles.” We couldn’t have said it better. 3. Consider camping near the venue at Wasatch Mountain State Park. Be sure to book early as spaces fill quickly. 4. After the race, be sure to head to Park City: home of the Sundance Film Festival as well as many retailers, clubs, bars, and restaurants. Additionally, you’ll find all kinds of outdoor activities to partake in including nearby reservoirs, and some of the best hiking and biking trails in the country. 5. Locally, there is a natural hot spring, known affectionately as “The Crater” that is open all year round to scuba divers and swimmers. Over 10,000 years old, it is made of minerals by the rising, heated spring water. 6. The Crater was also used as a filming location in the endurance movie “127 Hours” and even in an episode of the popular television show "The Bachelor." 7. Local town Midway was also featured in Hollywood as the backdrop for an episode of "Everwood," using Wasatch Mountains in the background. 8. For the historical buffs in the Spartan community, be sure to explore the Swiss heritage of Midway. The architecture displays a very Bavarian feel. 9. Salt Lake City, Utah’s state capital, is only an hour away. The hustle and bustle of the big city is within easy reach if you choose to make the journey. *The pricing table below reflects Afternoon Start time prices only.  Elite and Morning Start times will have an additional cost.
