Vermont Beast, Ultra Beast, and Sprint Weekend

Welcome to the Birthplace of the Spartan Beast. The Killington, VT Spartan Race has hosted three Spartan World Championship events. If you think you’re among the baddest of the east, we welcome you to come play in what is known as “Joe’s backyard.” This is where Spartan Race was born; and that means anything goes. You can expect steep slopes, off-trail descents, massive climbs, and chilly swims. The wonderful ski-town of Killington welcomes Spartans with open arms. Come see where it all began and witness the menace that gave Spartan Race its roots. Be forewarned though: this course has been known to destroy those not prepared in their mind, body, legs and soul. This iconic race has a lot of history. Aside from being the birthplace of the Beast, it’s where Spartan Race was being held when NBC first showed interest in highlighting the sport at the 2013 World Championship. In 2014, NBC returned to film the ruthless battle that led to the crowning of the first Spartan Race World Champion from Europe, Jon Albon. If you want to experience one of the most rewarding and challenging courses in the world, come out to the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont. While the climbs will have your calves and quads begging for a massage, the cascading silhouettes of mountains and the unpredictable weather will have you shouting AROO! as you battle for glory from the mountain tops.   TOP REASONS TO TAKE ON THIS COURSE:   1. After you conquer this course you’ll have a new idea of what it means to push your limits. Completing the tasks of going the distance, completing the obstacles, and yes, doing the burpees, will leave with you with the ultimate sense of accomplishment. 2. You have the chance to enjoy a Spartan Feast. Share your battle stories with fellow Spartans over your favorite post-race cuisine at one of the many mountainside restaurants. There are plenty of options from Sushi Yoshi to the Original General Store in neighboring Pittsfield, VT -- so, you’re sure to find something suitable for replenishment. After all, you did just exert all that hard work and energy on that 4241 foot mountain. 3. With all the lodging, cabins and hotels nearby, there are options for all Spartans to bunk up for a weekend -- that’s sure to make for some interesting conversations around the water-cooler. 4. Are you an Ultra Beast? There’s only one way to find out. Sign up and never give up.

Whether they’re helping you over the wall or chasing you up the mountain, make sure they’re with you at the starting line.

Teams can be any size but must have at least 4 members to be included in the team rankings.

TEAM REGISTRATION

The best way to ensure that you are starting at the exact same start time as your friends is to create a Team during registration (or have your friends Join your team!).

Any racers that are registered as part of a team, on the SAME DAY in the SAME TIME BLOCK (Elite vs. Competitive vs. Morning vs. Afternoon), will be moved to the common team start time in each block when start times are assigned (about 10 days prior to the event). Racers that are registered for Sunday will not be moved to Saturday with a team, or vice versa.

Team times are NOT determined by the captains start time. Team members will be grouped together within each block (Elite, Competitive, Morning OR Afternoon), based on the preferred time that the majority of team members in that block choose.

Racers that are registered for Elite or Morning start times will NOT be grouped with racers in the Afternoon start times or vice versa.

For more detailed team information please see: 2017: Team Registration and Start Times.

SPECTATORS: Bring your friends and family. (Your biggest fans)

Bring your friends and family to the race to watch you conquer obstacles, dominate the finish line and receive your medal!

Racers, your fans will motivate you over the wall and past the finish line. You wouldn’t believe how far a cheering section will go when you’re exhausted. Your fans will also enjoy music, raffles, entertainment, and festival challenges.

Most importantly, fans will receive a front row seat to watch racers from a safe, comfortable, and relatively mud-less (no promises) Spartan Race festival ground area! And, when it’s over, they receive muddy hugs from thrilled Spartan athletes. After all, what’s a sport without fans?

Cost: $20 Online until Friday prior to the Event. $25 on site (Cash Only).

As a Spartan Race spectator, you’ll get: $5 Spartan bucks redeemable at the merchandise tent, access to view multiple key obstacles on the course, finish line viewing, the vendor tents, and hot food for sale on the grounds!

For detailed spectator information, please see: The Spartan Race Spectator Guide.

From Friday, September 15th to Sunday, September 17th Killington Resort will offer 20% off their Adventure Center One-Day Tickets and Mountain Bike Lift and Trail One-Day Tickets to all event participants and their friends and family coming to spectate.
