Distance: It's a 5km race, fastest time should be around 30 minutes. Longest times will be over 1 hour. We use Timing Chips for accuracy.
Start Times: Starting at 8am, waves of 250 athletes will be released every 30 minutes across 2 groups (Elite and Open).
Team Codes: Please contact customer service to set up a discount team code to register. It can only be used at the time of registration, for more information check out our FAQ on teams.
Parking: FREE (Parking details will be available a week before the event)
Spectators: 1 for $10 or family group of 4 for $20 online. Spectator tickets sold at the race are 1 for $10 or family group of 4 for $20 (CASH ONLY).
Ages: All Ages (14+ years to race the adult race). Adult must sign a waiver onsite for racers under the age of 18 years old.
Spartan Kids: There's a Kids races on Sunday, September 27th for 5 to 10 years of age only. You can register your child online ahead of time or on race day just make sure you show up at least 60 minutes before the start of the races. The Kids Race begins at 11:30am. Photos are not provided for Junior racers.
Youth Races: The Youth Races are ages 11 to 13. This is new to Western Canada Spartan races in 2015. These races will start at approximately 10:05am each day. We will send out an email closer to the date to confirm start times. This age group will race on part of the adult Spartan Sprint Race. The distance will be between 2.5 to 5 kms. Each racer gets a medal and a t shirt. This race is untimed. Photos are not provided for Youth racers. All youth racers must have an adult sign their race waiver and they must be present at event.

Your heat time is located at the bottom right of your receipt.
One First Aid station at the end of the race with water, bandages and the Ambulance service on speed dial if need be! Carry extra hydration and fuel if you think you might bonk or pass out from dehydration.
Every competitor receives a medal, Spartan t-shirt, scrapes and bruises, stories, stories and more stories!
The week before the race you will be emailed if there is pre-race package pickup and the location and time specifics. You can also pickup your race package on race day arrive at least 90 minutes prior to your start time.
Coolers or barbeques are not allowed within the main festival area. Spectators are welcome (subject to the same parking fee). No dogs, alcohol, glass bottles or camping on site, this is event location rules.

Canadian Spartan Junior Races are held in conjunction with all 2016 Canadian Spartan Sprints. This race was created to help Junior Spartans foster a life-long commitment to fitness and health. These events provide an opportunity for young athletes to develop and test their fitness in an exciting, outdoor environment where having fun and getting dirty is mandatory! Racers of all athletic abilities are encouraged to connect with their inner warrior as they run, walk, crawl and climb their way through a fun-filled obstacle course that helps them discover just how Spartan Strong they really are!

How many people are needed to make a team? Teams are unlimited with a minimum of four people! Team members are timed individually and are not required to cross the finish line together.
The Spartan Hurricane Heat is a special opportunity that gives athletes the chance to meet and run with the Founders and staff of Spartan Race in a unique and memorable way. Usually held early Saturday morning or Friday night (Head lamps and glow sticks required!), you'll be put on a team, and you'll finish as a team. No timing chips, no clock, no bells and whistles. Successful finishers earn Hurricane Heat dog tags, a finisher shirt, a Hurricane Heat badge, entry into a closed networking group, and the chance to build relationships that will last well beyond the finish line.
Want a front row seat to all the Spartan action? Purchase a spectator pass! You'll receive entry to the rocking festival area, a festival grounds map, access to some of the obstacles on course, not to mention the epic finish line. Enjoy the music and watch your friends and loved ones slip and slide through the Spartan course in the relative safety and comfort of the Spartan Race festival grounds!
You can volunteer a minimum of 4 hours up to all day. Each volunteer gets a lunch and a t shirt. If you volunteer for 8 hours you also get a free race entry. Upon request we will provide a reference letter. We have many different volunteer roles to choose from. Without volunteers, Spartan Race cannot put on such spectacular events! We need you!
