Pennsylvania Super and Sprint Weekend

Blue Mountain Ski Area is nestled within the picturesque Little Gap Valley amidst the breathtaking backdrop of the neighboring Pocono Mountains. But don’t let the beautiful views and trails fool you, this course is punishing! The mountainous terrain makes use of steep slopes and takes you in and out of the surrounding forest, it has long climbs and quick descents. Here you get a taste of what it’s like to climb mountains and the sense of accomplishment that overcomes you as you reach the top. Couple the tremendous climbs with the obstacles, and even the fittest Spartan will feel challenged. Two years in a row the Elite Men’s and Women’s Spartan Race competition has been the featured race for Reebok Spartan Race on NBC Sports. The Blue Mountain venue offers a compelling preview of how the World Championship might play out come the end of the season. During the 2015 Season, this venue also played host to the second Spartan Combine, an event designed to bring a new element to the sport of obstacle racing. Simply put, when you sign up for Pennsylvania, there’s a lot this venue has to offer. TOP REASONS TO TAKE ON THIS COURSE: 1. Blue Mountain has a long history that brings racers an understanding of perseverance. 2. Epic views from the top. [And a colossal feeling of accomplishment from the bottom]. 3. Spectators are treated to jaw dropping course views with chair lift rides from the bottom to the top. 4. Dine at the Slopeside Pub and Grill and replenish all the calories you depleted from conquering the course and the mountain!

Whether they’re helping you over the wall or chasing you up the mountain, make sure they’re with you at the starting line.

Teams can be any size but must have at least 4 members to be included in the team rankings.

TEAM REGISTRATION

Getting all your friends registered and lined up together on race day can be tricky. Avoid any confusion by checking out: 2016: Team Registration and Start Times.

SPECTATORS: BRING YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. (YOUR BIGGEST FANS)

Most importantly, fans will receive a front row seat to watch racers from a safe, comfortable, and relatively mud-less (no promises) Spartan Race festival ground area! And, when it’s over, they receive muddy hugs from thrilled Spartan athletes. After all, what’s a sport without fans?

HURRICANE HEAT

Saturday Night @ 5:00pm sharp.

Show up early to run with the Spartan Staff in a whole new way!

Typically lasting 3-4 hours, the Hurricane Heat is a unique event, traversing on and off the Spartan Race Course. Hurricane Heat Participants will be assigned a team upon arrival and will be expected to work together to complete any and all challenges set before them, as a team. You can't finish alone.

Dominate the course like the good founders intended. There are no chips, no clock, just a fun run Spartan-style that represents what our company and our athletes are about…getting up when you’re knocked down and finishing what you start. And Burpees, lots of burpees.

Remember: You don’t want to be late. Plan to bring head lamps and glow sticks (required).

Successful finishers earn Hurricane Heat dog tags, a finisher shirt, entry into a closed networking group, and the chance to build relationships that will last well beyond the finish line.
